Scott Taddei is a Portland-based visual artist whose interdisciplinary practice weaves beadwork, fiber, graphite, mixed media, and found materials into visual inquiries of identity, belonging, and representation. A U.S. Navy veteran, Taddei brings to this work an ongoing attention to how identity is shaped, tested, and carried across different structures and systems.

Taddei works with care and intentionality across diasporic cultural lines, roots tangled between Abenaki and Québécois heritage, hailing from Massachusetts and now based in Portland, Oregon. That distance, geographic and otherwise, sits at the center of the work, asking what it means to carry lineage across land you weren't born to. Their practice also meditates on queerness, Two-Spirit identity, and non-binary embodiment, living in the friction between heritage and hybridity, memory and material. The work carries that complexity forward, undiluted, into whatever form it takes next.

Taddei received a BFA in Art Practice from Portland State University in 2024, and was nominated for the International Sculpture Center's 2024 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award. In 2026, they were a member of the February cohort of the Caldera Artist in Residence program in Sisters, Oregon.
